So how do you turn a 14 year old's interview with a celebrity into a career as an animator? You do what Jerry Levitan did in 1969. Levitan followed John Lennon, from a meeting at Toronto airport to his hotel room and wangled an interview with the Beatles lead man. Then he turned the inteview into an animated film that was nominated as the best short animated film at the 2008 Oscars. Here's a link to the story in Paste Magazine. The Micrsoft campaign sure looks like the work of Levitan's team members to me.
Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 11:44AM Jim Beam lays it all on the line with this commercial. What the spokeskitten has to do with the liquor is undetermined. Have been in a room when this one airs, and the whole room goes silent. The girls laughed. The men looked at one another. It is what it is. Sex. The dream girlfriend for the average man? So that mean Jim Beam's the dream whiskey? I don't even like whiskey. But it's hard not to like this young lady, who likes a guy who has a hirsute back and a little paunch.
